On 14 July 2026, General Kantnat Nikornyanont, WVO Director-General, together with Mrs. Jittanant Nikornyanont, President of the WVO Wives Association, attended a reception held on the occasion of the French National Day Celebration. The reception was presided over by Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, Ambassador of the French Republic to Thailand, at the Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai, Bangkok.

     The year 2026 marks the 170^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and France, reflecting the long-lasting friendship and close cooperation between the two countries. The significant milestones that underscore the strength of the relationship include the State Visit to the French Republic by His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen in June, as well as the signing of a Joint Action Plan to strengthen the Thailand–France partnership, elevating bilateral relations to a strategic partnership and advancing cooperation in key areas such as innovation, digital transformation, cybersecurity, clean energy transition, the circular economy, education, and research.
