WVO participated in the 23rd General Assembly in the Republic of Singapore
On 26th July 2024, General Detnitit Luangngamkum, WVO Director – General as Thailand’s head of delegation together with 9 heads of delegation of VECONAC member countries participated in the Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries (VECONAC) 23rd General Assembly at Singapore Armed Forces Reservist Association (SAFRA) Choa Chu Kang, Republic of Singapore. The Opening Ceremony was presided by Mr.Zaqy Mohamad, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Singapore as he also presented the VECONAC Honorary Presidency Title to General Santasana Nantibhakhirund, former WVO Director – General and President of VECONAC 2022 and the VECONAC Medal of Honour to Lieutenant Colonel Hassachai Iamlaor, WVO Assistant Director – General (Executive) and Secretary – General of VECONAC 2022 who hosted the VECONAC 34th Executive Board Meeting and 21st General Assembly
in Bangkok, Thailand. In this regard, the meeting was conducted by Brigadier – General (Retired) Winston Toh, President of VECONAC 2024 and President of Singapore Armed Forces Veterans’ League (SAFVL) in order to endorse the resolutions regarding member countries’ cooperation in veterans affairs and enhance the quality of life of veterans in the ASEAN region.
